Overview

The Sales Associate/Delivery Driver will be responsible for the delivery of products over established routes. Responsibilities will include the correct loading of the vehicle, recording of delivery information, accepting/making payment for goods, and ensuring overall vehicle safety. The Temporary Delivery Driver will be expected to operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures. If there are not deliveries available, the incumbent of this position will in the store as a sales associate for the reminder of the shift. This position will maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers cannabis and cannabis accessories products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely  manner
  • Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers
  • Reviews and verifies invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy
  • Process and deliver customer orders using Store to door route management application
  • Ensure customers' concerns and/or questions are solved and answered promptly and efficiently
  • Communicate customer requests and/or problems to a Retail Store Manager when needed
  • Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process
  • Contacts customers to confirm delivery details
  • Verifies the customer’s identity before making the delivery (ensuring they are of legal age)
  • Determines placement of merchandise, follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries, and conducts safety    reviews
  • Documents each sale and maintains delivery logs / records
  • Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
  • Greet customers and discuss type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services required
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
  • Participate in merchandising and promotional activities for accessories.
  • Ensure store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards
  • Adapt communication style in order to deliver information effectively to a range of individuals
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Attempt to calm irate customers by explaining the situation while attempting to resolve the issue to the best of your abilities 
  • Take orders from customers and prepare products for purchase
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied with the issue resolution as well as the resolution process itself
  • Assist with display of merchandise
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Ensure accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures
  • Participate in all manner of store maintenance
  • Prepare merchandise for purchase
  • Work in partnership with management and other employees to maximize store sales and in-store presence
  • Answer external and internal phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate person or Store Manager
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and security regulations are adhered to and required standards are met
  • Prepare sales and accept cash, credit card, or automatic debit payment
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Sell Safe License and a clean police background check is mandatory in Alberta.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and good knowledge of Cannabis products and strains.
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent and safe driving skills required
  • A copy of current Clean driving abstract required with no violations in last three years.
  • Registered owner of a Safely Working Car /Van/SUV that is well maintained is mandatory requirement of this job.
  • Proof of commercial vehicle insurance coverage for work purposes and registration on drivers name.
  • Vehicle information required - Provide the year, make, model, color, vehicle identification number (VIN), and license plate number for each vehicle. The vehicle alarm system should be installed in each delivery vehicle
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
  • First Aid Kit required in the vehicle.
  • Defensive Driver course an asset.
  • Working smartphone with a data plan and charger required.
  • Two years of experience in retail sales.
  • Proven sales ability with capability to meet and surpass targets and goals
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
  • Ability to promote products and persuade customers
  • Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and route
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
